Whitelisted Origins - what are we not covering?

Greetings, everyone!

Mentioned this in BLOG #58147, but we realize that our current ruleset will not cover everything you want to add.

Due to that, I'd like to ask you guys for the following (please no complaining etc. here - just items, namely facts and information).

1) Item Name / Category (Figures / Goods)
2) Origin (well, the origin, as per MFC's definition)
3) Where is it sold? (Country of origin and URL to one or more retailers or outlets)
4) Who manufactured it? (Country of origin Information or link to manufacturer's item page)

If not all of this information is available, that is fine, but at least one out of 3) and 4) is required.

This information will help us figure out what we can do to add those items, so please shoot away and post as many as you can. Thank you in advance!

For DDLC, the majority of official goods are available through American retailer webstores listed here: ddlc.plus/merch
Older merchandise (2018) was previously sold by the Team Salvato online store, viewable via Wayback Machine here: web.archive.org...
In 2019, this site became the DDLC Store: web.archive.org...
In late 2020, the DDLC Store moved to By Fans For Fans, rather than running side by side with it: web.archive.org...

Thanks, this helped a great deal already. Goods have been reconsidered and will be allowed, at least ones with Japanese manufacturers.

If I may ask, why is Genshin Impact's official Tmall/taobao store not listed among the 'stores allowed as sources' in the announcement post? Shouldn't it be comparatively easy to verify that it is run by the developer?

As quite a few chinsese developers sell exclusive merch through the site, this question may gain even further relevance in the future.

Thank you for the super quick answer! I can totally understand that, taobao is notoriously difficult to use without a chinese adress (the last time I checked at least). My concerns about exclusive items still remain, but that topic can wait.

Ah, sorry, missed that part - ideally, would you mind linking a few examples? Would help figure out what we could do about those, possibly.

Can I ask about the KFC (AKA 'Foreign Gourmet") goods? Are they covered? They weren't exlusive to China, and AmiAmi holds occasional preorder batches for them, and it says they were sold at exlusive partner shops (however which shops I'm unsure of)

They are currently ineligible because they are not sold by one of the whitelisted stores listed here: BLOG #58147

Goods by Japanese manufacturers can be added regardless of where they were sold which is why it's mostly been prize and gashapon goods added so far. (Along with doujin goods who follow a slightly different rule of being okay as long as they were sold online in Japan. ex: Toranoana, Melonbooks, Booth, etc.)

I've been adding most of this information as I add items to the club. I've been doing figures only, but I don't mind integrating goods and other items to the Club as well. Just think it will be easier for everyone to have a single place for information.

I believe this figure is currently ineligible for the database because it's manufactured by a non-Japanese company and is an OC by a non-Japanese artist.

The users here are fairly on top of adding figures to the database, so for future reference, if you can't find a figure here, it's most likely that:
1) it is unlicensed and therefore doesn't comply with copyright rules here
2) you might have your NSFW content filters turned on (which will hide all NSFW and NSFW+ figures)
3) the figure is not allowed in the database under the current site rules (i.e. must be from a Japanese or whitelisted origin, manufactured by a Japanese company, OR must be designed by a Japanese artist if an OC).

I am not sure if this will ever be eligible as an entry as it doesn't look like an item that would be sold in Japan (company making it has no Japanese distributors). It's not up for preorder yet but none of the Japanese shops covered this when it was announced last year.
