I got an email today telling me that one of my pre-orders was going to be delayed a single month.
ITEM #91355
"But Panda, it's just a month. What's the big deal?"
Thank you for asking, hypothetical person. The fact is, it's not a "big" deal. However it is annoying because Koto also forwarded another figure release by a month.
ITEM #91356
Meaning that they keep messing up my combined shipping on amiami.
"Panda, again, I don't see why this is an issue. Figures get delayed all the time, in some cases for a year or two even. What's one month?"
You're correct hypothetical person, it'll mess up my shipping plan but it's no big deal since I wasn't invoiced yet. BUT it's annoying! More so because another of my orders also did this.
ITEM #638637
Who was supposed to come out this month was delayed to July.
This got me thinking, I'm usually fine when it's a big delay. There is a sense of "ugh, ok. It can't be helped I guess." when a figure gets pushed back 3 - 6 months, but then amiami holds on to my impulse pre-owned purchase for a full month before posting it had me re-considering buying from them again(like what they did at the start of the year). Small delays, little inconveniences, somehow annoy me more than big ones and I wonder if others feel that way too.
Do you get annoyed by small delays, be it release dates or just slow shipping / sending items out, far more than long delays?

If it's going to affect other plans, probably. Especially if the updated delivery estimate falls during a period when I'm away/unavailable. In the past there used to be tax relief for packages worth under a certain amount so if the delayed item got bumped into another package going over the amount I would be peeved. As of this year there's no more tax relief so it just costs more, but I no longer have to worry about having to set a strict budget per package.
Sending stuff by boat is great. But once I know it’s on land, I wish it would be a little faster. Waiting 6-10 days for customs to clear it is obnoxious.
However, it’s not the end of the world. As long as it gets here in the end, I’m happy! Company delays are alright, I want a good product after all.
The extra wait doesn't bother me at all though. I ship exclusively with surface so I have to wait months to get my figures anyway, what's one more on top of that?
Specially because it never means more quality.
