Two more shops go under within days of each other? Just like when MHToyshop and Anime Island closed around the same time.

Connexe was another shop that required upfront payments for pre-orders. With this constantly happening, why would anyone want to shop at a place that requires upfront payment? Its way too risky.

I'm a regular shopper at Tokyo Otaku Mode, and I always try my best to pre-order items that fall within Paypal's 6 month window, but due to delays sometimes, that doesn't always work.

Does anyone know how long Connexe was in business before going under?

Another one bites the dust. At least they were upfront about refunds, sucks to those who made business with them and hope they get their money back somehow. This is just me but I would rather a business say they won't offer refunds when they are closing their business than them just not day anything and vanish.

I tried to cancel my order a few months back and they said the can't do refunds. I called my bank today and they said they can't give my money back since it's already past the time frame. Looks like I will not get my money back anymore. I'll just stick with AmiAmi from now on.

They got back to me super quick and said if Connexe won't respond to them by next week by stating they'll fulfill their orders (they won't), they'll refund me, yay.
If you paid for any Connexe preorders with Partial.ly, it's worth giving a shout over to them. They're aware of this. Would love to know if you get a refund I also ordered a figure from a different store closing down and used partial.ly. They said the same for me as well.

That's awful... Maybe contact your bank if you paid with a credit card? That's gotta be pretty recent, right? There are still reputable sites like AmiAmi. Anubis is still available for preorder there, if you're interested.

Not only did I have to wait YEARS to get order updates, but PayPal also couldn't/wouldn't help me when I filed a claim. It seems the $300+ I spent on preorders is just...gone. I ordered from them right as I started collecting, so I didn't know any better. I'm upset that I probably won't see that money ever again, but glad that they can't rip anyone else off anymore. Good riddance.
(If anyone's curious, I preordered the 1/4 Nakiri Alice bunny and the 1/7 Phat Company Kanao. They refused to offer me refunds on both, even when both figures had already been on the market for over a year...but they had no problem canceling preorders for $20 prize figures. Curious.)
