Comments How to Calculate/Track the Value of Your Anime Figure Collection

It would be interesting to see how much did you spend and how much is the actual value at this moment.

That's the fun part, I don't! I'm too lazy to do so and also I only get stuff for myself (and also for gifts for family occasionally...) and don't care about the resale value

I don't really care much about the worth of my collection. Its for me and me alone so yeah. I feel like most people nowadays are to obsessed with the worth of their collection. Just enjoy what you have and appreciate it more ^-^

I always undercut values when trying to work out the cost of my figure collection. Some figures when selling go in a month others, I've had listed on eBay for nearly 6 months no interest.

But if I took Solaris Japan prices or what I paid into account it's not really the correct value of what the figure is worth.

I have tried to sell figures with after market prices of 40,000 Yen+ but had no interest at prices of £200 and even lowered to £150.00 etc.

Goes down to something is only worth what someone is willing to pay.

No joke, I sat down yesterday and calculated the "value" of my collection out of curiosity.

Turns out it's quite a bit more than I spent on it because a few figures have sky rocketed the past year or two... I blame social.

Your template looks really nice! I haven't watched the Youtube video yet though.
I actually use notion for tracking my figures as well, it's a really useful tool imo so I'm glad to see people talking about it here. I made my own template but kind of went overboard with the details, so it's a bit of an eyesore.

I have a tallied total at the bottom but I'm not sharing that lol.

Since I often buy second-hand and love comparing how good a deal or not I got for a figure, I have the Release Date, Release Price in JPY & the Release Price in GBP (Using the conversion at time of Release). This is slightly limited though as I only put the first release of a figure.

I really love how easy it is to sort and group the entries. I can see how much I've spent monthly, or on a specific series, or on different figure types.

I also use notion as a database for things I own that aren't on MFC (link) since making templates is pretty easy.

Edit: The last Column with a Date is 'Date Owned' rather than 'Date Ordered'. I just realised it wasn't clear since it was cut off

Edit 2: I like being very specific, so for the 'Price Paid' column it's the absolute total of everything including shipping & tax, I have a sub-page for each entry where I split up the price into different parts, here's an example:
