5★ - Honestly fantastic
I made an account on this site just so I could leave a positive review for Goody-Japan. I've been using them for a few years now whenever I come across something on Mercari or sites not usually supported by the bigger proxy services, and every time has been fantastic. They're quick to ship, items are always packaged well, and the customer service is seriously some of the best I've ever seen. Every time I've sent them an email they've responded quickly and were extremely kind. I really can't recommend them enough, it's a great service and I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a proxy that gets better than this.

5★ - i really recommend them
although i was't sure at first what to think, this proxy is one of the best i have ever used. it can be a bit hard to find recent reviews for them so i thought i'd write one. they are REALLY fast for mercari orders, which can really matter if it's a sought after item. i used them on a whim when i found them on a google search for a new proxy, and i think from now on i'll only use them. they respond to emails very fast as well and are helpful. i wanted to buy an item but accidentally sent a link for a store to buy the item from you rather than sell it to you, and they explained that to me and then even sent an amazon link they found for the item. (it was a bit of a hard to find figure. i didn't buy the amazon listing because it was too pricey for me, but it was appreciated they found it for me)

my package arrived and was well packed, lots of bubble wrap and tape to keep things from moving. compared to buyee that uses extremely cheap packaging and has the nerve to charge extra for putting items together, this proxy is very kind and reliable. they can do just about any store as well including, as i mentioned earlier, mercari, which can be hard to find a proxy that does. really recommended !! i honestly can't find anything negative in my experience using them. one thing i will mention though, is that i wouldn't use them for yahoo auctions since it seems there is no automatic bidding system like other proxies have. but if you're like me and don't use auctions and prefer just buying items right away, they're worth it and only take 1-3 days to send everything out after packing.

5★ - Great first proxy experience
For my first time buying from Japan, I chose to try Goody-Japan's proxy service. Their fees were pretty straightforward: their selling fee (the fee to purchase an item for you) is 500 yen for an item worth 1 - 4,000 yen; 700 yen for an item worth 4,001 to 10,000 yen; and 7% of the item's price (up to a max of a 5,000 yen fee) for items over 10,000.

They have a bank transfer fee of a flat 180 yen.

And of course, you have to pay for domestic and international shipping, as well as any customs fees.

There are other fees that might come up depending on the circumstances - sometimes a Japanese tax of 10% is charged (depends on the site and seller), or if you want Goody-Japan to negotiate with a Mercari seller for you, there'll be an extra charge for that. However, I felt that it was all laid out clearly enough in their Help/FAQ sections that there were no surprises.

They're also able to buy from Mercari Japan and Yahoo Japan Auctions, two sites that some proxies didn't offer.

I did have some difficulty in browsing items for sale using Goody-Japan's site. It seemed pickier about the results it returned, and occasionally it would abruptly show 0 products altogether - even when I'd just been advancing to the next page of 1000+ search results. I usually found it easier to browse a given shopping site directly, and only use Goody-Japan's site for the actual ordering/bidding (instead of trying to use Goody to find items as well as order/bid on them). As long as I had the URL of the item I wanted to get, it was easy to paste it into Goody-Japan's order form and complete the transaction.

While I didn't deal with customer service directly, I found it very helpful that the site emailed me at every step of the buying/bidding process, and let me know what to do or expect at every point. I always felt confident about what was going on with my order and whether I needed to act (pay an invoice) or wait (for my item to arrive at the warehouse).

Stock management isn't directly an issue with a proxy, though I did observe a few things in regards to their purchasing/bidding on my behalf. Goody-Japan lets you bid on items in real time (as long as you have enough of a deposit in your account to cover the bid), so you're generally able to win auction items without needing Goody's intervention. I found one exception - when a "Buy now" item I was looking at required manual bidding. In that case, I needed to fill out a manual bidding request form and wait for Goody-Japan to place the bid for me. This was unfortunately during the middle of the night in Japanese time (and the item was gone an hour later), so keep in mind that on the rare chance an item requires a manual purchase, the company won't be able to act unless it's during their business hours. For other immediate purchase items, though, the order seemed to go through within a few minutes regardless of when I placed it; a Mercari item was marked as sold (to me) within an hour after I placed my purchase request, despite it once again being around midnight in Japan.

I used PayPal for my purchase and can't really comment on the other options, though there were a few others listed. One thing to note is that if you make a deposit via PayPal and later need to withdraw it, you'll have to pay the PayPal fee of ~3.8% on the returned money. So when I withdrew 5,000 yen of my deposit, I only got back 4,811 yen. Goody-Japan does mention this in the Payment section of their Help pages, though, so at least I knew what to expect.

Shipping rates seemed pretty standard as far as I could tell, and they offered a variety of options like EMS, Air (small packet and parcel) SAL (small packet and parcel), along with DHL and Surface. They list all the options, along with the estimated cost based on weight and destination, in - once again - their Help section.

I don't have much to compare their packing to since I'd never ordered from Japan before, but everything seemed sturdy and safe. The figure boxes were individually wrapped in bubble wrap, and packing material was stuffed into all the loose spaces to keep the boxes from moving around. The box seemed to be a good size - large enough to hold the boxes plus adequate protective packing, but not so large as to be excessive or needlessly hike up shipping costs.

Shipping speed was exceptional. I chose EMS in the hopes of getting the items before any further Corona virus issues popped up - however, right around the time the order was sent out, the Japan post announced that EMS was facing heavy delays to my country, and that they had a backlog of packages that could last up to two weeks. So I settled in to wait. And yet...5 or 6 days later, the package showed up on my doorstep! Perhaps it was a relatively "small" package as far as the post was concerned - maybe they were able to squeeze it onto a flight while larger shipments faced the expected delays? I really have no clue how it got to me so fast (and it seemed pretty big to me...), but it did, so full stars on that, haha.

Anyway, to sum up: detailed Help section let me know exactly what I was getting into in pretty much every area I might have questions in. Costs all seemed fair and reasonable, and I was able to quickly and smoothly complete all my orders. However, I did have trouble browsing available items using the site, and you'll have to pay a PayPal fee if you want to withdraw a deposit made with PayPal. Once my orders were in, I was updated every step of the way, and my items shipped incredibly quickly and perfectly safely.

5★ - First time customer
I heard some good and bad things about them but gave them a go 2 weeks ago. I did not need to contact customer service because they e-mailed me whatever I needed to know such as when the item arrived and when they placed an order. I only used them to get a product from amazon.jp but they packed it amazingly well so that none of it would be damaged. I do not think this will be the last time I use them. It would be nice if they had a better looking website in the future though.

5★ - Great Service
I've used them for quite a while now and they've fulfilled every request without any issues and decent rates. They're also super quick. I put in an order with them for something that was not up for order yet. They said they would fulfill it for me. The item sold out within minutes, but they were still able to secure me a copy. Super reliable.
