Identifying a Bootleg

The lines on her ribbons aren't blurry like they are on the listed bootlegs on here, but I am still not sure. I would really appreciate some help!I think the figure is legit. The box has Sega authentication sticker PICTURE #1106155. The lines on gloves and high tights are crisp. Frills under a dress are so pleasant to look at (unlike PICTURE #1384498)

Is this Bakugo Nendoroid legit? Wanna make sure before buying it.

*snip*The box has both authentication sticker by VIZ and EU-based importer sticker by HEO, so the nendo is more than legit.

The idea that it's a bootleg never crossed my mind as I bought it at a convention for full price and displayed it with my other figures for years without really noticing anything was wrong with it.

After looking up articles on how to spot a bootleg I'm almost convinced it is one (that seam on the arm is a dead give away, never mind the bad paint job on random places), but I'd really like more opinions just to be %100 certain that yes, I bought a fake?

The first step is to compare your copy with others on photos, like this picture PICTURE #1672694

I'm sorry to say your figure looks like bootleg. The painting of the face and eye decals are simpler in your photos. Silver lining of vest pocket is nonexistent. Also, some parts look like the maker didn't keep a paint in lines.

The figure is original, the hand is just misplaced. It happens a lot with prize figures. The other details are like the original - neat painting on a hairband and suspender clips, detailed hair, a pink lips line. I have another prize figure ITEM #1289974 and the twintails are separete pieces. I had to put a hair strand around a finger so the figure will stay true to what's advertised.

The easy fix is to use hot water or hot air to the hand to make the plastic more malleable. The water could be just hot enough for you to not put skin. Put the hand on the button and then treat it with cold water/air so it will get rigid again.

I got this figure ITEM #98893 as a gift a few days ago. While I can already tell that the shape in general isn't the best anymore, I was wondering if she is even authentic in the first place. The box looks very authentic since it also has the HEO import sticker and the base also has the copyright info on it, but I am still not really sure about the figure itself... help would be appreciated! I've been interested in picking up a copy of Fengrong's Cthulhu Idol Figure and found one new from a Chinese seller on eBay for under a $100 and it makes me suspicious.

Since it's a non-whitelisted Chinese figure it's not on the database and I've never bought a Chinese original figure before so was not sure if it has a bootleg version or not or how to find that out.

Seller claims it's genuine and has 100% positive feedback but no previous sales of this specific figure before. Only has official product images but haven't tried contacting them for anything more yet.

Can anyone enlighten me if there's a chance this a bootleg or not, if one even exists? Any input would appreciated.

She just didn't sell well or something?oops, sometimes I forget that some Taobao listings need an account to view.... One is hpoi selling her for 530cny and BiliBili selling her for 300cny.

But yeah there was a lot of floating stock due to the amount of people cancelling due to the incessant delays and rumours the lead guy of Fengrong had done a runner. And the final product isn't top drawer quality, so some people likely ate their deposits.

Just comparing to the $90 total from the Ebay seller. Was wondering if it was worth signing up on the site you linked or if I should go with Ebay. Hello. I am also not sure if this is the place to go (especially since the ad is here on MFC and is open; I have not tried contacting the seller). But, I noticed that ITEM #582274 has no bootlegs listed.


But, I'm wondering if it just hasn't been added yet? I am new to the hobby, and have little confidence in spotting bootlegs. But, something seems off about this one. I cannot tell if it's the hand, skin-tone (perhaps bad lighting?) maybe even just the different placement of the staff...but attempting to follow the Good Practices on this website I'm just a bit suspicious.

Can anyone help?

To clarify: I have not talked with the seller. I cannot seem to find any reviews either, but am not sure if I am just missing it.

Nope, as international shipping prices will vary. She's a heavy brute so her shipping is not going to be on the cheap end.

I figured, so I ended up going with the eBay listing as I just could not figure the Taobao site out. I figured with the shipping it'd come to a similar price I know she's a heavy one. Thanks again for the info though!
