post any calls for help or advice! requesting critique and specific feedback here is fine too, same with asking for links to tutorials. sometimes looking for help on a forum is like screaming into the void, but it is worth a shot!!!

Hey, no problem! Glad you managed to work it out :D If you let me know what kit it was, maybe I could keep an eye out for an authentic one on Yahoo Auctions, Suruga-ya etc for you. ^^

Heya! Pretty new to the whole thing and am having a tiny bit of a problem sorting things out, mostly due to a mixture of language barrier (not everything translates well from english to portuguese and almost all good sources of info are in eng), and being completely inexperienced in the world of real life arts and crafts.
English wise, completely get the gist of primers, top coats, gloss, etc. Turning it into pt and talking to people at shops to guide me in the right direction is where it goes wrong... So trying to arm myself with knowledge:
- for top coats, everyone is just sending me off to "sprays", that's it, no real translation; so can you use any sort of "spray" with the matte/clear/gloss finish to cover an acrylic paint colored gk OR does it have to be specifically made for acrylic paint? Or does it have to be based around the material, so "Spray for plastic"?
- for gloss, they are mostly just calling it "verniz", which is "varnish"; noticed for the vallejo line, per instance, it says "verniz acrílico" which is specific to acrylic? So do these "varnishes" also have to be specifically for acrylic to go with acrylic paint? And could "varnish" also be a good equivalent in translation for "top coat"? Because, again with the vallejo line, they seem to offer said varnish in gloss, acetinado and mate, so maybe that is a top coat, just in liquid form versus the "spray"?

Hello!
I am new to Garage kit building, I have yet to build a single one.
I recently got a kit that I'm hoping to build soon, but I'm currently stuck to apparently the first step, degreasing the resin parts.
I live in Finland, and we do not have Oxiclean or Purple power that is usually used in the tutorials I've found.
Are there other builders in Finland that could help me out?
